General Health & Fitness tips for improving your Well Being
We were created perfect, but we live in an imperfect world. Your well being is up to you. Maintaining good health and fitness is in your hands. Here at Be Healthy, Wealthy And Wise, we want to help you enjoy the journey towards a healthy lifestyle.
If you're like me, the words exercise and diet are like sour lemon drops that leave a pinched expression on my face.
Have no fear!
We're not here to tell you to spend 5 hours a week at the gym (unless you're trying to meet people), or cut your calories to 1000 per day.....heaven forbid!
Emerson put it nicely, “Few people know how to take a walk. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence and nothing too much.”
Doesn't a walk sound like fun and easy....well....depending on your treadmill. Let's be about the FUN in life. Small changes in your lifestyle can produce meaningful changes in your well-being.
1999 South African study found that when men ate parts of their morning meal at intervals over five hours, they consumed almost 30 percent fewer calories at lunch than when they ate a single breakfast. Other studies show that even if you eat the same number of calories distributed this way, your body releases less insulin, which keeps blood sugar steady and helps control hunger.
On a serious note:
“Many so-called spiritual people, they overeat, drink too much, they smoke and don’t exercise. But they do go to church every week and pray ‘Please help my arthritis. Please help me bring up my strength, make me young again.’” ~ Jack LaLanne
Please don't hang me by my toes. I'm not insulting your faith.
We only want to point out that if you're reading this, there just might be a few areas in your life that you want to change. There are probably several in mine that could use adjustment as well.
Then again...maybe not.
In conclusion a little humor.....
“Too many people confine their exercise to jumping to conclusions, running up bills, stretching the truth, bending over backward, lying down on the job, sidestepping responsibility and pushing their luck.” ~ Author Unknown.
